Malay Youth Literary Association (4PM)

Malay Youth Literary Association (4PM), also known as Persatuan Persuratan Pemuda Pemudi Melayu, was formed in 1948. 4PM is a non-profit social service organisation and Institution of Public Character (IPC) committed to serving the community through youth development, family development, education and community upliftment. Through its programmes and services, 4PM supports the Malay-Muslim community and the wider society in Singapore by nurturing youths’ potential, strengthening families and creating opportunities for meaningful community participation.
Key Flagship Programmes
4PM Youth Development
Focuses on supporting the holistic development of youths through mentoring, education and positive engagement. Through programmes such as FRENZ+ and X-Perience@4PM, 4PM provides safe and supportive platforms for youths to build confidence, strengthen peer relationships, develop resilience, enhance their social-emotional competencies and improve their overall well-being. 4PM also nurtures appreciation of the Malay language, critical thinking and public speaking through Bahas 4PM, while Bestari recognises and celebrates outstanding ITE students who have demonstrated excellent academic achievements and strong leadership potential. Collectively, these programmes reflect 4PM’s commitment to developing youths who are confident, resilient and equipped with the values and skills to contribute positively to the community.
4PM Family Development
Focuses on supporting families and individuals who may require assistance, care and guidance to achieve stability and well-being. 4PM provides assistance to low-income families with school-going children, as well as elderly beneficiaries who may need financial and social support. 4PM’s social workers and officers engage families to better understand their needs, provide guidance where appropriate, and connect them to relevant support systems. These efforts aim to strengthen family resilience, support children’s educational needs, and uplift vulnerable members of the community with dignity and compassion. Through Family Development, 4PM remains committed to supporting families through both immediate assistance and continued care, while working towards longer-term community well-being and social mobility.
Working Together with M³+
Malay Youth Literary Association (4PM) serves as Co-Lead for Focus Area 2 on the Prevention of Youth Offending, working alongside M³+ partners and stakeholders to strengthen community efforts in preventing offending and re-offending, and building resilience against drug abuse within the Malay/Muslim community.
