Association of Muslim Professionals Singapore (AMP)

Established in 1991 as a result of the First National Convention of Singapore Malay/Muslim Professionals, Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP) offers meaningful programmes and services to support families, debtors, professionals, workers, students and youths. We embrace our independence and non-partisanship, and work in critical collaboration with all who share our vision of building a dynamic Muslim community. AMP is a registered charitable organisation and is accorded the status of an Institution of Public Character (IPC).
Key Flagship Programmes
Adopt a Family & Youth Scheme (AFYS)
The Adopt a Family & Youth Scheme is a transformative initiative launched in 1999 to foster self-reliance among underprivileged families. Through AFYS, we provide crucial support including financial assistance, economic empowerment, and educational programmes. Our comprehensive approach includes skills training for adults, academic enrichment for children, and family life skills workshops.
Debt Advisory Centre (DAC)
The Debt Advisory Centre, which was launched in 2013, is a one-stop centre that assists individuals facing debt problems through a three-pronged approach: advice, educate and research. It provides a roadmap for debtors to have a clearer picture of the options that are available to them. In addition, DAC clients attend support group sessions where they share their experiences and gain emotional support from others facing the same problem. They also attend financial literacy workshops to prevent them from creating new debts while they work to resolve their current debt issues. The DAC also acts as a platform to collect data for research on the extent of the debt problem within the Malay/Muslim community.
Development & Reintegration Programme (DRP)
The Development & Reintegration Programme, introduced in 2018, is a collaboration between AMP and the Singapore Prison Service (SPS) that adopts a structured and holistic approach in the provision of a reintegration programme for Muslim offenders from incarceration to post-release. It aims to provide additional support to Malay/Muslim inmates in the Drug Rehabilitation Centres, and their families through an individualised intervention plan, in-care and aftercare engagements, and financial and socio-educational assistance. Cases are referred to AMP from the Singapore Prison Service.
INSPIRASI@AMP
INSPIRASI@AMP, in collaboration with the Registry of Muslim Marriages (ROMM), supports young couples through premarital consultation session, marriage preparation workshops, and parents support group. It also provides post-marriage support for young couples in the first ten years of marriage through Club INSPIRASI. Some of the initiatives include marriage enrichment programmes, family day activities, couple retreats, support group sessions, and support services, which include counselling and casework, as well as information and referral services.
Achieving Resilient & Inspiring Families (ARIF)
ARIF aims to provide better support to couples in preparation for marriage and family life, and to optimise maternal wellness and child development.
AMP Helpline
The AMP Helpline provides emotional support to a person in distress. It offers non-judgmental listening where you have the freedom to speak about anything that is causing an emotional crisis, without the fear of being judged and with the assurance of confidentiality.
Muslim Professionals Collective (MPC)
The Muslim Professionals Collective brings together ground-up initiatives in the cybersecurity, engineering, finance, healthcare, legal, socio-educational and sustainability sectors, among others, to grow a vibrant ecosystem of Muslim professionals. MPC also offers mentoring and fireside chats with established professionals in various sunrise sectors.
Bursaries
AMP offers bursaries for students at Institutes of Higher Learning and accredited private institutions, supporting those pursuing diverse fields of study, including STEM, nursing, medicine, and law.
PULSE Networking Seminars
AMP's PULSE Networking Seminars offer a platform to address emerging concerns among youths by facilitating open discussions on topics such as burnout, workplace biases, and navigating career challenges. Through expert sharing and interactive dialogue sessions, youths gain valuable insights and have the opportunity to engage and deepen their understanding of the topics at hand.
Torchbearers Leadership Programme
The Torchbearers Leadership Programme is a five-module leadership journey that builds young leaders’ personal mastery, community awareness and advocacy skills. Through the programme, participants design and pitch their own community initiatives, with seed funding awarded to the most promising ideas.
