KESUMA (Association of Malay Entrepreneurs)

KESUMA (Association of Malay Entrepreneurs) is a non-profit organisation registered with the Registry of Societies in Singapore since 2003. We support underserved communities, including at-risk youth, single-parent families, and low-income individuals, through long-term empowerment rather than short-term aid.
Their mission is to transform lives by equipping beneficiaries with entrepreneurial knowledge, skills, and mentorship, enabling them to become self-reliant and business-minded individuals. Through their programmes, competitions, and mentorship initiatives, many of our participants have gone on to lead and own their own businesses.
Key Flagship Programmes
KEMP for Schools (KESUMA Entrepreneurs Mentoring Programme)
A structured social entrepreneurship programme for schools, tapping the Youth Social Entrepreneurship Programme (YSEP) Fund (up to $10,000 for mainstream schools, up to $50,000 for IHLs). KESUMA handles the funding application end-to-end at no upfront cost, while students gain hands-on entrepreneurship experience, membership perks and a Certificate of Participation. This best showcases KESUMA's partnership with schools and Institutes of Higher Learning to grow the next generation of entrepreneurs.
YESCOM (Young Entrepreneurs Skills Competition)
A long-running flagship programme (since 2005) that brings together youths from primary to tertiary level in team-based entrepreneurship challenges, capped by a Grand Finale where teams sell real products to the public. Strong legacy and visibility make this a signature showcase piece.
Jawi Class (Sponsored by MENDAKI)
A partnership with MENDAKI to teach Jawi script to students aged 9–14, paired with community-building efforts like celebrating student birthdays. This highlights KESUMA's collaboration with MENDAKI on education/heritage programmes beyond entrepreneurship, broadening the showcase.
